Incoming Domestic Exchange

East Central Florida (New Smyrna Beach)

September 7th to September 14th, 2010

Please consider signing up to be part of the planning committee for this exchange, particularly if you saw ways that last year's exchange could have been better.  We need to get an early start, since the sooner we start planning, the better, more organized, and easier this year's exchange will be for all of us.  Serving on the committee is also a good way to become better acquainted with your fellow club members.

Too, I need to know as soon as possible if you will be able to host (or day host) these nice people,

some of whom hosted us on our exchange this past spring.

An Example of Exchange Activites

Twenty-two eager ambassadors from the Sunshine Coast (North of Brisbane) came to Portland between visits with Friendship Force clubs in Sacramento and Missoula, Montana. We encouraged all Friendship Force Columbia Cascade members to participate in these activities. We showed our Australian friends what an enthusiastic and participatory club we are!

Tuesday, Sept. 2: 12:30 p.m. - WELCOME PICNIC at Fort Vancouver Park. Salads, desserts or anything that is typical picnic food such as baked beans, etc. Corn on the cob and hamburgers/hotdogs were furnished, also table service was provided

Wednesday, Sept 3: 9:30 AM Lelooska Foundation Museum, Ariel, WA (15 min. East of Woodland): carvings by Lelooska family member.   This was a rare treat!

Thursday, Sept. 4:  Free Day (no official activities were organized so that hosts or day hosts could plan a special day with their guests, depending on common interests.)

Friday, Sept. 5: 12:30 p.m. - STERNWHEELER TRIP from Cascade Locks to Hood River

Sunday, Sept. 7: 5:30 p.m.- FAREWELL DINNER - Amadeus Restaurant in Milwaukee
