People-to-people exchanges are at the heart of The Friendship Force experience. Our club has visited and/or hosted clubs from New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Brazil, Ottowa, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee in the past few years.
In 2008 our outgoing international exchange was with Germany; the Australians came to visit and we hosted, and were visited by, Iowa and Illinois during domestic exchanges.

In 2009 we traveled to Canberra and Perth, Australia.  We hosted Charlotte, North Carolina.
Early in 2010 our club went to Thailand. Then our domestic exchange was to Charlotte, NC and Orlando, Florida in May, 2010

Carlinhos was the Exchange Director in Piracicaba, Brazil in April, 2007. He planned a variety of activities for us to enjoy with our host families.  Our club was invited to plant a tree of friendship.  During our visit, we were interviewed for the local newpaper, met with the mayor, explored the city, toured the dental school, and enjoyed many meals with our gracious hosts.

Val and Helen from Horowhenua, New Zealand enjoyed the sights and history of Cathlapoitle Plankhouse, a full-scale replica of a Chinook cedar building, at the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge. Lunch followed at Beaches Restaurant on the Columbia River in Vancouver in August, 2007.

Nineteen ambassadors from Horowhenua, New Zealand visited in August, 2007. Aurora, Oregon was an interesting stop for some of them. Other club activities included touring the Pearson Air Museum, a picnic at the Rauch home in Battle Ground and the farewell dinner at the Rheinlander German Restaurant in Portland.

Belo Horizonte FF members gave us a warm welcome, April, 2007. Brazilian hospitality is legendary. Members of our club spent two weeks in Brazil learning about the culture, language, customs, food, and international friendships. A highlight of this visit was our trip to Ouro Preto, a charming colonial city of many elegant churches and the Museum of Mineralogy. Some of us were fortunate to reconnect with folks who had been hosted in Portland the previous year.

Our club visited an artists' cooperative near Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Fern tried her hand at some needlework.
